Denture Stabilization

Dentures rely on suction and a close approximation to the gum tissue to fit properly.  The problem is that the jaw and gums can change over time and if teeth have been missing for a long time there generally isn’t a lot of support and retention for a denture-especially a lower denture. A patient with an ill-fitting lower denture can have four mini implants placed in the lower jaw and their existing denture can be retrofitted to attach to each implant using a metal housing with a rubber O ring inside. The O ring attachment allows the denture to snap into place and become very stable. This extra stability and retention allows the patient to comfortably chew foods they couldn’t dream of before the mini implants were placed. The entire procedure can take place in one appointment of less than two hours.
